Church Leader Daniel Hamilton Receives New Assignment

Elder Daniel G Hamilton was sustained as an Area Seventy at the April 2016 General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elder Hamilton will be serving in the Pacific Area.

He and his wife traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah for the April General Conference. Surrounded by his wife Cyndee, daughter Jaymi (also from Sydney) and their son Dalin who flew in from Japan where he lives, this was a particularly special occasion to be together for this special occasion.

Elder Hamilton returned from the mission field in 1978, having served in Perth Australia. He then founded an industrial chemical company. He sold that business in 2009 and is currently a partner in a kitchen appliance company. 

He has served in many capacities including Stake Young Men’s president, Stake Mission President, Stake President, Mission President, Bishop and Institute teacher. Elder Hamilton was serving as Stake President of the Sydney Australia Harbour Stake prior to being called as an Area Seventy.  

Elder Hamilton was born in Sydney, Australia, on September 20, 1957. He married Cynthia J Mackie in September 20 1978. They are the parents of 7 children and eight grandchildren.
