The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Sydney Chamber Choir and Orchestra once again enchanted the community, community leaders and friends of various faiths with performances of excerpts from Handel’s timeless oratorio - Messiah. Performances were held at Parramatta Town Hall, Baulkham Hills and Blair Athol.
At the Parramatta performance, Latter-day Saint leader Elder Johnny Leota presented a Community Spirit Award to Settlement Services International in grateful recognition of their efforts to serve the refugees in our community. The award was received by Ms Bintu Kamara on behalf of the organisation.
Distinguished guests who enjoyed the performance included Rev Soon Teck Lim (National leader of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification), Mr Gregory Stone (President of Universal Peace Federation Australia), Ms Debra Porter (Executive member of Uniting Church in Australia Assembly) and Rev Dr Patrick McInerney (Director of Columban Mission Institute).
David Meredith, conductor of the ensemble, stated, “It is a true joy and privilege to be able to conduct this wonderful ensemble each year. I very much look forward to seeing what this ensemble will deliver in 2017."
