An Easter Message of Greater Love Towards All

Showing greater acceptance, love and understanding towards all people through the example of Jesus Christ was the message of President Rainer Korte of the Firle Stake (diocese) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 19 April edition of the Advertiser.

He was one of six Christian leaders invited to share their thoughts of peace and good will this Easter season.

Like many others, he was deeply saddened by the loss of so many lives in the Christchurch shootings.

“We may feel overwhelmed by senseless acts like this at home and abroad, but we can all do something,” counseled President Korte. He reminded readers of Jesus’ commandment to “Love one another.” (John 13:34)

He continues, “For Christians, including members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Easter celebrates the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His love makes it possible for us to rise above all things.”

President Korte concluded his message by encouraging readers to ponder the life of Jesus Christ and to ”follow His example of genuine love and kindness towards others.”
