The “Light the World Giving Machines”, an initiative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offers a unique and engaging way for people to contribute to charitable causes.
In 2024, Giving Machines were located in five Australian cities - Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth.

PEOPLE – That is why there are Giving Machines. They are meant to benefit people who are “doing it tough” in their life.
The collected funds provide the basics in life: food, clothing, medical supplies, educational material, and more.

One volunteer said, “Families would come to the Giving Machines, talk about the importance of helping others, and then make one or more donations. In some cases, this involved mums and dads lifting their young children to press the numbers on the keypad to select the donation item.”
