A series of vintage community service TV spots which remind viewers to be kind to their family, will air on Channel 7 and GWN7 over the next few weeks.
The spots were produced in the 1980's and 1990's by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were aired on TV channels around the world before the rise of the Internet and social media. They are timely reminders of the importance of quality time with family.
“These videos are short but they pack a punch," said Elder Paul Lekias, a senior church leader in Western Australia.
"They remind us that our families are so very special, and that we need to nurture these relationships every day. Most importantly, they remind us that one of the most valuable things we can do for our family, is spend time with them.”
Church Communication Director for Western Australia, Fiona Maile, hopes that the TV spots will remind people to listen and connect with those who need love and attention. A little time from us can mean the world to another!
"This pandemic," she says, "has been an opportunity for many to revaluate priorities and think about what really matters most."
