Leadership for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific Area changed Friday August 1st. The new presidency are: Elder Kevin W. Pearson, Area President; Elder O. Vincent Haleck, First Counselor, and Elder S. Gifford Nielsen, Second Counselor.
Elder Pearson succeeds Elder James J. Hamula as president. Elder Hamula served in the Pacific Area Presidency for the last five years and as president for the last three years.
Elder Pearson and Elder Haleck are continuing their service in the Pacific Area. Previously they served as first and second counselors in the presidency, respectively. Elder Nielsen arrived in New Zealand yesterday.
