New Loganholme Meetinghouse Opens Doors to the Public

On Saturday 19th October 2019, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held an "open house" at their new meetinghouse in Loganholme, inviting the public to come and see the new facilities that had been made available for worship services. Approximately 500 hundred people attended, including Church, Community, Government and Interfaith leaders.

The open house consisted of guided tours of the building, with displays and presentations set up by different groups within the church, demonstrating a variety of programs designed to help children, youth and adults become better versions of themselves. The Latter-day Saint focus is on creating stronger families which in turn creates stronger communities.

Those who attended received a greater understanding of how Latter-day Saints endeavour to centre their homes and their worship services around Jesus Christ. Among those who toured the building were, Mayoral candidate Darren Power and candidate for Division Five Jon Raven. At the conclusion of the tour they both remarked how remarkable they found the facilities.

Neighbours and community members also attended the open house. Local resident Andrew Hicks, when asked about his experience said “It was a lovely day. I was very impressed with the building. Being a multipurpose building, I see how it can serve the community. I see how many of the programs are very beneficial for families, and I was also impressed with the employment and education service that is offered. It’s something I’ve never seen before”

The construction of the building was completed five months ahead of schedule. Francis Iva who is the President of the Beenleigh Stake (Diocese) is looking forward to welcoming more of the community into the building.
