New Leaders Named for Modbury, South Australia Congregations

Matthew Nairn has been called as the new president of the Adelaide Australia Modbury Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ken McKim and Jamie Herrick will serve as counsellors to President Nairn.

President Nairn succeeds President David McCann in the volunteer leadership position overseeing congregations in several suburbs of Adelaide.

By profession President Nairn is a neuropsychologist, and he and his wife Katherine are the parents of four young children.

President Nairn says he will need to balance family, professional, and Church responsibilities in his new calling, something he practiced as bishop of the Modbury Ward (congregation).

The Church is largely staffed by the volunteer ministry of its members. This lay ministry is one of the Church’s defining characteristics.
