Papua New Guinean Ambassador Honoured at Washington D.C. Dinner

His Excellency Rupa Mulina and his wife, Mrs. Numa Mulina, were guests of honour at a dinner hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently in Washington D.C.

Ambassador Mulina participated in the Ambassadorial Lecture Series sponsored by Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah) earlier this year.

The Ambassador spoke favourably about his recent time in Utah and expressed appreciation to the Church for hosting the dinner, which was held at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors’ Centre.

Ambassador and Mrs. Mulina were presented with a photograph collection of their visit in Utah. Selected photographs were shared with the attendees in a PowerPoint presentation prepared by the hosts.

A question and answer activity which followed the dinner highlighted various aspects of Papua New Guinea culture and history. The ensuing discussions increased understanding and appreciation for Papua New Guinea among all the guests.

Other dignitaries in attendance included The Honourable Jeff Flake, U.S. Senator from Arizona, The Honourable James Santini (former U.S. Congressman) and Mrs. Ann Santini, of the Church’s International Affairs Office.
