Perth Community Leaders Watch ‘Meet the Mormons’

Around 30 Perth community leaders from government, business, churches and academia watched “Meet the Mormons” on a back-yard movie screen recently.

Local Latter-day Saint leader, Elder Peter Meurs, and his wife Maxine, hosted the movie screening.

“It was great to have an opportunity to meet with community and political leaders in an informal setting,” Elder Meurs said. “After a BBQ we watched ‘Meet the Mormons.’”

“Meet the Mormons” is a feature-length documentary film produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, released in the United States last October.

The film is an opportunity for people to meet — in a very personal way — members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Filmed on location around the globe, “Meet the Mormons” takes viewers on a journey into the day-to-day lives of six Church members in the U.S., Costa Rica and Nepal. From their individual passions to their daily struggles, each story paints a picture as rich and unique as the next while challenging stereotypes that surround the Mormon faith.

The movie has been showing in select theatres in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and other countries over the last few months.

Digital platforms such as iTunes and Netflix are also offering the movie to those wishing to see it.
