The Church was given the “Community Project Award.” This was for work done by many church members living in Victoria, in “Clean Up Australia” for the past 12 years. It was also awarded for the Church’s participation with The Melton Environment Group for the clean up of Arnold’s Creek over the past 6 years. The work on The Melton project was done by members of the Melton Ward of the Wyndham Stake. The Melton Ward is where David Cowan had previously served as bishop, so receiving this award in their behalf was especially gratifying for him.
David commented, “We have found great pleasure in working with members of the community. In these projects, church members worked alongside other groups in the community. We look forward to future projects.”
