Young Sister Missionary to Australia Told She Would Never Walk Again

Thrown over 9 metres and pinned under the car of a driver asleep at the wheel, 20-year Kendal Levine, a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Australia in 2014 was told by doctors that she would never walk again.

And they would have been right had it not been for the grit and determination of Ashley, her family, the quick-thinking actions of a young man at the scene and a health care team that have worked tirelessly over the past three years.

Kendal who now walks with a cane, said she has never let failure and frustration thwart her goals. “I’ve always known I would get better," stated Kendal according to a recent article in Good4Utah.

There’s more work ahead but Kendal hopes to improve and recover enough to return to Australia and complete her mission.
