Youth Volunteer at the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Doorknock

Youth from the Sydney Australia Harbour Stake (diocese) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints served as volunteer collectors for the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Doorknock.

Donning Mormon Helping Hands vests, the young women and young men set out by foot on Saturday morning, 26 May 2018, to raise funds to support a range of services. Those services include: providing shelter for the homeless and addiction recovery counselling.

Addressing the youth, Lieutenant Brad McIver of the Salvation Army said: “We are deeply grateful for the support shown by you and your Church. Your service will make a tangible and meaningful difference in the lives of people less fortunate”.

The youth visited homes in the vicinity of their stake centre (church building) and were warmly received by members of the community who donated generously to the cause.
