“Meet the Mormons,” a new documentary about members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, opened in Perth recently.
The movie examines the diverse lives of six members of the Church living in the United States, Costa Rica and Nepal.
One man who watched the film in Perth, Simon Lekias, said, “This movie needs to be seen all around the world. What an inspiration. I loved this movie and didn’t want it to end.”
After watching the movie at a theatre in Innaloo, Perth, Dr Gianluca Paglia said, “I found the movie enjoyable and wholesome.”
“The cinematography was wonderful and engrossing, which certainly added to the appeal of the movie. I felt tears coming...it touched me…it was a great example of how faith can help the down and out.”
Another movie-goer, Terira Gray, described Meet the Mormons as “Fantastic.”
“I’m 24 and born in the Church, and inactive [in the Church] at this time in my life. This movie taught me so much about the gospel and I think it’s the perfect thing to show the world, both to Mormons and those not of our faith.”
The movie has had multiple screenings in Perth theatres located in Garden City and Innaloo. The film continues to be shown in other locations throughout Australia.
