Sydney couple, Joy and Allan Murrin, see faith-focused history as a way to help children and youth appreciate the past and shape the future.
The Murrins began their service this month as Australian Church History advisors for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“The faith and experiences of individuals weave together to become Church History,” Mr Murrin says. “The aim of this work is to strengthen not only ourselves but especially the rising generations.”
Mrs Murrin agrees. “I have seen the blessing that comes into the lives of my children as they have reviewed the journaling written within our family. It is so important to have a legacy to pass on to our descendants.”
Their volunteer service, Mr Murrin adds, includes helping Latter-day Saint congregations and lay leaders throughout the country to compile annual histories that “demonstrate the faith and progress of Church members in Australia.”
