Collecting Clothes for a Cause

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collect and sort donations for homeless people.

An appeal was made in June 2019 by volunteer organization Street Friends for blankets, jumpers, parkas, jackets, hoodies, track pants, socks, sleeping bags, and towels to be distributed to the homeless of Perth, Australia.

On the 28th of August 2019, members of local congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sorted and delivered over 60 bin-liner bags of items to the Street Friends warehouse in East Perth.

The response required the collection of donations from members across Dianella and surrounds before being sorted for distribution by the youth of the Church.

“This is a phenomenal response from members of your Church,” said Tai Tauma, collections coordinator of Street Friends. “could you possibly thank everyone who donated and that this cause is ongoing…bless you.”

Street Friends operates in the Perth CBD. To donate or get involved, visit streetfriends.com.au
