Sydney Interfaith Dinner Discusses Refugee and Self Reliance Needs

On Friday 13th April, many faith leaders from around Sydney met at an Interfaith dinner, organised by Josie Mackie and Emily Kwok from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the invitation of Harbour Stake President Bardia Paki.

Leaders representing the Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Baha’i, and Hindu faiths attended, as well as local representatives from refugee organisations and self reliance services. During the evening, the refugee organisations were able to identify and express their needs, which led to valuable discussion around the room about ways that they may be able to assist in addressing those local needs.

As a result of the dinner, firendships were formed, providing further platforms for continued discussion and sharing of ideas concerning projects that may arise in the future.
